Meet your Maker - Alison
Alison has been a part of The All-in-One Team for many years. She is a highly skilled and valued member of the team, carrying out 3 different job roles as an expert machinist, inspector and packer.
Alison's passion for the Textile industry began when she was just a little girl...
'When I was a little girl I used to love making clothes for my dolls, blankets and soft toys. As I did not have a sewing machine, I sewed everything by hand.
I used any fabric I could get my hands on, from old clothes, curtains and quilt covers.
Not using any patterns I would chalk out my own designs. It all came naturally and I made some lovely items.
When I was a little bit older, I received a sewing machine for Christmas and I was so delighted. I knew this was what I wanted to do as a career.
At aged 16 I got on a Youth Training Scheme at Ultimate Equipment and began my training - that was the start I needed. I enjoyed myself, learning new skills whilst making tents, sleeping bags and jackets.
After working at Ultimate Equipment, I moved on to Phoenix as an experienced machinist making very much the same products.
I continued sewing over the years, using a wide range of machines and a lot of different fabrics, I sewed curtains for Marks and Spencer's, survival suits, lap jackets, ski wear, cushions for Next and Tents.
In my 40's I joined The All-in-One Company. Here I am an experienced machinist, sewing together your brilliant creations. I'm also an inspector and packer. I double check that your onesies are perfect before sending them out to you.
I have been in the textile trade for 33 years and still enjoy doing my job just as much as I did when I was a little girl.'
